Governmental and partner agencies in Ghana are implementing various programs to provide vocational training and industrial equipment to youth and entrepreneurs to combat unemployment. In the Wa East District, the first phase of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) distributed tools and training kits to over 90 apprentices and master craftspersons. The initiative covers sectors such as welding, mechanical repairs, and garment making, with master garment makers receiving heavy-duty machines to establish community training hubs. Expanding on these efforts, the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have launched additional support initiatives. In the Ashanti Region, the GEA and the Mastercard Foundation graduated 242 entrepreneurs in agribusiness sectors, including livestock and fruit juice processing. Meanwhile, in the Juaboso District, the YEA provided artisans with electrical tools and sewing machines, contributing to a program that has benefited over 300 young people in that district. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-13: Ghanaian agencies provide training and equipment to youth Ghanaian agencies GEA and YEA are equipping youth with vocational training and start-up kits in agribusiness and artisanal trades to promote employment and economic growth. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ghanaian-agencies-provide-training-and-equipment-to-youth ### 2026-09-17: Wa East youth receive industrial tools under National Apprenticeship Programme Over 90 youth and master craftspersons in Ghana's Wa East District have received industrial tools under the National Apprenticeship Programme to boost vocational skills and combat unemployment. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/wa-east-youth-receive-industrial-tools-under-national-apprenticeship-programme --- Cite as: Ghanaian youth vocational training and equipment initiatives.
