Tobias Forge, the leader of the band Ghost, has announced that the group will enter an indefinite hiatus following the conclusion of the Skeletour in February 2026. The tour supported the band’s 2025 album, ‘Skeletá’. 

Forge cited exhaustion after a 70-show tour and a lack of clear creative direction as primary reasons for the break. He emphasized that he does not wish to manufacture music simply to meet industry expectations or contractual obligations, stating, “I’m not gonna just go back to make an album or force myself to make an album for no reason.”

Describing the period as a “normal hiatus” rather than a breakup, Forge intends to focus on personal time, family, and non-Ghost projects, including two film projects and a separate musical endeavor. He noted that he requires a genuine desire to create, stating, “I need to want to make a record. I need to have something to say.”
