Chef Giada De Laurentiis joined the 35th season of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alongside professional dancer Alan Bersten. Early reports indicated tension between De Laurentiis and her partner, producer Shane Farley, with claims that Farley was attempting to exert excessive control by acting as her ‘manager, agent, bodyguard and publicist all rolled into one.’

Following De Laurentiis and Bersten’s elimination after a salsa performance, the pair addressed the rumors of friction. Bersten dismissed claims of a rift, stating they had ‘nothing but love for each other’ and attributed any rehearsal tension to the high-pressure environment. De Laurentiis characterized herself as a ‘perfectionist’ whose frustrations were driven by a desire to perform well.
