The community of Giroc organized a Harvest Festival to raise funds for the construction of a placement center for children at risk. Organized by the ‘Sfântul Dimitrie’ Orthodox Philanthropic Association, the event was relocated to Bulevardul Aviației to accommodate expected crowds and featured musical performances and large-scale gastronomic efforts.

Following the conclusion of the festival, local officials and volunteers noted the event's success in supporting social causes. The proceeds and local harvests are intended to fund the ‘Sfânta Elena’ Center, a family-type home designed for children in foster care.
