Under the artistic leadership of conductor Ilya Derbilov, the ensemble performed at the National Theatre in Belgrade and held a sold-out concert at the Svetosavski Dom in Niš, which featured a collaboration with the Niš Church and Choral Ensemble Branko. The tour included participation in the 60th anniversary of the ‘Mokranjac's Days’ festival in Negotin, alongside additional performances in Novi Sad. During the festival, Derbilov noted that performing there was a “great honor due to its long and rich tradition.” He observed a profound similarity between the Russian musical tradition and the work of Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac, noting that while Mokranjac utilized strict European compositional canons learned in Rome and Vienna, his use of folk material created a strong connection to Russian heritage. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-26: Glinka State Academic Choir performs across Serbia The Glinka State Academic Choir from Saint Petersburg performed across Serbia, including at the 60th Mokranjac's Days festival, celebrating the musical links between Serbian and Russian traditions. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/glinka-state-academic-choir-performs-across-serbia ### 2026-09-22: Glinka State Academic Capella performs in Niš The Glinka State Academic Capella of Saint Petersburg performed a sold-out concert in Niš, featuring works by Rachmaninoff and Mokranjac in collaboration with the Niš Branko ensemble. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/glinka-state-academic-capella-performs-in-ni ### 2026-09-08: Glinka State Academic Choir to perform in Belgrade The Glinka State Academic Choir from Saint Petersburg will perform at Belgrade's National Theatre on September 23 under new conductor Ilya Derbilov. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/glinka-state-academic-choir-to-perform-in-belgrade --- Cite as: Glinka State Academic Choir tour in Serbia.
