Dairy producers in multiple regions continue to demand higher milk prices to offset rising production costs. In India, farmers in Haryana districts including Jind, Kurukshetra, and Rohtak are pushing for rates of ₹100 per litre for buffalo milk and ₹80 per litre for cow milk due to steep increases in feed, fodder, and labor expenses.

In the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, farmers from the Nagda, Unhel, Mahidpur, Khachrod, and Makdon regions have organized a protest. They plan to surround the Ujjain Collectorate on September 10 to submit a memorandum demanding that the government increase the milk rate from 8.40 rupees per fat to 12 rupees per fat. Producers cited rising costs for oil, animal feed, oilcake, medicines, and livestock as primary drivers of their dissatisfaction, warning of phased escalations if demands are not met.

In Switzerland, the industry organization BOM has moved toward price increases following drought and fodder shortages, reversing a previous decision to freeze prices. 

Global market indicators suggest further upward trends in milk and milk powder prices. Decreasing supply is being driven by seasonal shifts, heat stress in cattle, and the Shamonda virus. In certain spot markets, milk prices have risen to approximately 48 cents per kg.
