In the UK, the group Feminists Against Antisemitism has completed its first year of operation. In New York City, the administration has declined to adopt specific working definitions of antisemitism, such as the IHRA or Nexus definitions, a move critics argue complicates the ability to address antisemitic conduct. In Sweden, research from the Total Defence Research Institute and the Swedish Crime Prevention Agency indicates that antisemitism is present across various political orientations and social groups. Studies show that individuals with Jewish backgrounds report that attacks and the fear of exposure limit their daily lives. Law enforcement officials have also noted a lack of sufficient knowledge to properly identify antisemitic hate crimes. Experts observe that antisemitic conspiracy theories have spread rapidly during major global events, including the COVID-19 pandemic and various conflicts involving Israel. These theories often repackage old myths to fit modern communication trends, targeting the foundations of democracy. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-22: Antisemitism research highlights rising digital and political threats Research indicates antisemitism is deeply embedded across Swedish political groups, with conspiracy theories spreading rapidly during global conflicts and impacting the daily lives of Jewish citizens. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/antisemitism-research-highlights-rising-digital-and-political-threats ### 2026-10-12: Antisemitism definitions and activism spark debate in UK and US Debates over the definition and prevention of antisemitism continue in the UK and US, involving feminist movements and municipal policy decisions in New York City. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/antisemitism-definitions-and-activism-spark-debate-in-uk-and-us --- Cite as: Global debates and research on antisemitism.
