In late 2026, several international LGBTQ+ film festivals announced their upcoming programs and editions.

In the United States, the 19th annual Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Film Festival was scheduled for September at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, featuring documentaries such as ‘Mineshaft: The Cruising Murders’.

In Ireland, the third edition of the Priosma Queer Film Festival in Cork City expanded its programming to include nine feature films and 30 short films, with highlights including the Irish premiere of ‘Six Months in a Pink and Blue Building’.

Broadening the scope, various global festivals launched new programs. In Chicago, the Reeling festival opened with ‘La Bola Negra’, amid what organizers described as a ‘sea change’ in the industry regarding distributor interest in queer stories. The Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF) presented 27 events, while Canada’s 41st Reel Pride Film Festival in Winnipeg adopted the theme ‘Reveal Your True Colours’. Additionally, the SEA-Nordic Film Festival in Seattle focused on a century of queer representation in Nordic cinema.
