Developments in quantum computing infrastructure and security have been announced in Singapore and Switzerland.

In Singapore, the Singapore Institute of Technology and IBM plan to establish a Quantum-Safe Center at the SIT Punggol campus by the end of 2026. The center is intended to help organizations transition to cybersecurity resilient against quantum computing threats by providing a testbed for quantum-resistant technologies, professional training, and applied research.

In Switzerland, IBM and Lockheed Martin have launched a quantum innovation hub at ETH Zurich through an agreement with the Swiss Federal Office for Defence Procurement, armasuisse. The initiative includes the deployment of the IBM Quantum System Two at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center in Lugano by the end of 2026. This hub aims to support Swiss industries and academia in developing new algorithms and industrial use cases in sectors such as chemistry, materials science, and financial services.

The Swiss system is expected to be powered by the IBM Quantum Nighthawk processor, with ETH Zurich coordinating hardware access for academic institutions, startups, and industrial partners. The collaboration also features research projects between IBM and Lockheed Martin focused on quantum sensing for navigation and advancements in the additive manufacturing of metal alloys. To build local expertise, the hub will provide specialized training, workshops, and certifications.
