Health authorities in several countries are managing multiple Salmonella outbreaks linked to various food products.

In France, over 80 people were infected with Salmonella Enteritidis, primarily in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Île-de-France regions. Investigations linked the cases to pumpkin seeds processed in Lot-et-Garonne and distributed through the Grand Frais retail chain. Simultaneously, in the United States, the FDA and CDC identified 22 infections across Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Washington. These cases were traced to contaminated broccoli sprouts from Evergreen Fresh Sprouts LLC in Idaho.

In the United Kingdom, investigations into three Salmonella Enteritidis clusters involving imported eggs resulted in hundreds of cases, including one death in England. In the United States, a separate multistate outbreak involving recalled shell eggs was closed after confirming 134 illnesses and 34 hospitalizations across 18 states. This specific egg-related outbreak spanned from November 2025 through August 2026.
