The Golden State Warriors have secured a five-year, $110 million rookie-scale contract extension for guard Brandin Podziemski. The fully guaranteed deal includes a trade kicker and a mutual option for the 2031-32 season. Podziemski, the 23-year-old guard selected 19th in the 2023 Draft, expressed gratitude for the franchise’s long-term commitment as the organization views him as a “foundational piece for their future.”

In addition to the Podziemski extension, the team signed Charles Bassey to a one-year contract valued at $2,845,883. The deal includes $1.4 million in guaranteed money, with the full amount becoming guaranteed if Bassey is not waived before January 10, 2027. Bassey, a former Western Kentucky standout, will become a free agent at the end of the season.

These moves follow the signing of Kristaps Porzingis to a two-year, $40 million deal, which has faced scrutiny due to his health. Amidst these roster changes, Stephen Curry has addressed criticisms regarding the front office’s ability to build a championship contender, noting that “availability and injuries have significantly impacted recent seasons.”
