Google provides various tools and infrastructure for managing data and storage within the Android ecosystem. The Files by Google application allows users to reclaim device storage by identifying and reviewing unnecessary files, such as temporary app data, large videos, and duplicate files, before deletion.

On a broader scale, Google’s mobile infrastructure includes Google Mobile Services and Google Play Services, which handle essential functions like security and authentication. Users must also manage a shared 15 GB storage quota across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. Following the end of unlimited compressed storage in 2021, management strategies such as using Google Photos’ storage saver mode or manually deleting large files have become necessary to avoid service interruptions.
