To support education, Google announced that Pakistani students would receive one year of free access to its Gemini AI service. Additionally, Google launched ‘Digital Pasban’, an internet safety initiative in collaboration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) aimed at providing Urdu-language toolkits to 200,000 households.

Following the Islamabad inauguration, Google announced plans for a new office in Karachi to focus on business operations. Recent recruitment efforts in Karachi highlight a focus on specialized, senior-level roles in strategic business development, digital advertising, and the education sector, including a Google for Education Lead. This follows Google’s 2022 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as a foreign company. 

During the expansion, Pakistani officials emphasized the necessity for digital platforms to address specific security circumstances, particularly regarding the use of social media to combat terrorism and ensure proactive monitoring of online content.
