The Greece women’s national football team has announced a 26-player squad for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup playoffs against England. Following a successful campaign in which the team finished first in its League C group with four wins in four matches, Greece has secured promotion to League B of the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

Head coach Vasilis Sperts selected the 26-player roster for the two-match series. The first leg is scheduled for October 9, 2026, at 19:30 at the Pankretio Stadium in Heraklion, Greece. The return leg will take place on October 13, 2026, at 21:30 at the King Power Stadium in Leicester, England.

England manager Sarina Wiegman has named a 23-player squad for the tie, which includes the first senior international call-up for Chelsea’s Lexi Potter and the return of Leah Williamson. Notably, Wiegman omitted Chloe Kelly and Ella Toone from the selection, stating that ‘the levels weren’t what I expect from them on the pitch’.

The winner of this playoff series will advance to the second playoff round to face either Slovakia or Ukraine.
