In discussions regarding his political history, Romas addressed his time as a municipal councilor and faction leader in Chalandri. He stated that he did not profit from these activities, claiming he used his own personal funds instead. He noted that his political experience shifted his perspective, causing him to view the field through a “serious and dramatic lens” rather than a comedic one, leading him to decline producing political satire about the current Greek landscape. He also highlighted the personal costs for artists engaging in politics, such as the risk of facing increased criticism. Reflecting on his personal life, Romas detailed his decision to abandon medical studies for drama school at age 22, a choice that resulted in conflict with his father and forced him to leave his family home. He described his early career struggles, including working in bars to support himself, and addressed the impact of social media on modern professional life. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-20: Greek actor Haris Romas discusses career struggles and family conflict Actor Haris Romas discusses his decision to leave medical studies for acting, his early struggles working in bars, and his experiences with fame and social media criticism. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/greek-actor-haris-romas-discusses-career-struggles-and-family-conflict ### 2026-10-05: Haris Romas discusses political career and personal costs Greek actor and former local politician Haris Romas stated he did not profit from politics and declined to create new political satire, citing his serious experience in local government. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/haris-romas-discusses-political-career-and-personal-costs --- Cite as: Greek actor Haris Romas career and political reflections.
