Greece is implementing administrative and legislative changes to its agricultural sector. The Ministry of Rural Development and Food has postponed the mandatory olive harvest declaration until October 1, 2027, to allow producers time to update the Olive Tree Registry with accurate geospatial and variety data. A grace period has been established so that administrative sanctions will not be imposed before October 1, 2028.

Concurrently, the Greek Parliament’s Interparty Committee, which is working on restructuring the primary sector, has extended its deadline to submit a final report to October 12, 2026. The committee aims to develop long-term solutions through cooperation with political forces and academic institutions, such as the Agricultural University of Athens.
