A new generation of Greek footballers is driving a resurgence in the sport, moving away from the defensive style associated with the Euro 2004 championship victory. Initial reports highlighted a ‘golden generation’ of talent, including Christos Tzolis at Arsenal and Konstantinos Karetsas at Borussia Dortmund, alongside significant European representation from Greek clubs.

This momentum has transitioned into competitive success for the national team. Led by players such as Charalampos Kostoulas and Tzolis, Greece has achieved success in the Nations League, including consecutive away victories against Serbia and Germany. These performances have placed Greece at the top of their group, fostering a period of optimism not seen in over two decades.
