Maximos Charakopoulos, General Secretary of the New Democracy parliamentary group and MP for Larissa, has formally requested the declassification of certain private lands in the Aigani community of the Tempi municipality. 

Supported by community president Theodora Anagnostopoulou, the request asks Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou to remove specific parcels from the forest register. The proposal argues that current forest classifications limit landowners’ rights and hinder economic development, despite legal ownership titles dating back to a 1927 purchase contract. Charakopoulos is calling for a special re-examination process to align land classification with constitutional provisions on property rights.
