The Greek Orthodox Church has commenced a new ecclesiastical and catechetical year across various regions.

In Grevena, the Holy Metropolis launched the year under the theme ‘Let us become a City of Heaven’. The inaugural event at the Saint Achilleios chapel included music, theater, and games, with Metropolitan David performing the Agiasmos blessing. Weekly sessions are scheduled at the Spiritual Center for various age groups.

In Pyrgos, celebratory events and blessings are set for late September at the Apostolic Diakonia Hall. Church leaders noted that these schools aim to function as spiritual communities to help youth navigate modern digital distractions and isolation. This period also marks the start of a new liturgical cycle focusing on the Gospel of Luke and reflections on the Holy Cross.
