Greek authorities are advancing multiple road‑infrastructure projects in 2026. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport approved a €113 million vertical road axis linking Ptolemaida and Xino Nero in Western Macedonia, aiming to improve safety, regional connectivity and economic development as part of the Fair Development Transition Plan.

Separately, the Attica Region began extensive road‑safety works on five streets in the Pentele municipality, covering new surfacing, signage, curbs, guardrails and drainage. This effort is part of a wider program of more than 300 road‑safety projects slated for completion by the end of 2028, with a total budget of €192.9 million. Both initiatives reflect a broader push to upgrade Greece’s transport network and reduce accident rates.
