The E.K.A.S.D. initiated the youth basketball championship season by announcing the tournament draw and schedule. The competition was organized into three groups, with two groups based in Rhodes and one in the northern region.

Following these organizational steps, Sokratis Brusiovas, president of the EKASDYM basketball association, addressed the development of the sport in Western Macedonia. He noted that the region faces logistical challenges due to harsh winter weather and long travel distances. To address these issues and improve competition, the association has implemented digitalized championships and a new system for youth categories that separates teams by skill level rather than geography to prevent score disparities.
