In Guayaquil, the feasibility design stage for a bicycle lane project has concluded. The updated plan proposes a 39-kilometer network across the northern and central sectors of the city, an increase from the original 17-kilometer proposal.

The network is designed to connect approximately 11 universities, shopping centers, and residential zones, including areas such as Miraflores, Urdesa, and La Kennedy. Local officials noted that 72% of surveyed citizens expressed interest in the infrastructure, contingent upon meeting safety and quality standards.

The study results have been submitted to the General Directorate of Public Works and the Transit and Mobility Authority (ATM) for phased implementation. While the first phase focuses on the north and center, phase 2, which covers both northern and southern areas, is currently reviewing contract offers.
