A series of violent attacks by gunmen and suspected bandits has targeted multiple local government areas in Kano State, Nigeria.

In late August, an attack on the Chiromawa community in Garin Malam Local Government Area resulted in the deaths of three young men and the abduction of the local traditional ruler, Alhaji Yusif Nadabo, known as the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano. Security forces and local vigilantes pursued the attackers, leading to the rescue of the traditional ruler, who was found unhurt.

By early September, reports indicated an escalation of violence across the state. In Rogo Local Government Area, gunmen killed two people and abducted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Fanka. This followed a separate raid in the Rantan Ward of Bebeji Local Government Area, where attackers killed APC Ward Chairman Alhaji Garba Buba and a resident.
