Haitian national football teams have reached several significant milestones. The men’s national team, the Grenadiers, secured a historic first qualification for the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals following victories against Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. This performance resulted in Haiti rising four places in the FIFA World Rankings to 84th globally. Individual honors were also awarded, with Alexandre Pierre, Danley Jean-Jacques, and Wilson Isidor named to the Concacaf Team of the Tournament, including Pierre as the best goalkeeper.

On the women’s side, coach Pia Sundhage has prepared a 25-player squad for upcoming international friendlies against Japan and Australia.

To address the inability to host international matches domestically due to widespread insecurity and gang violence, Sports Minister Pythagore Dumas has announced plans to construct two new FIFA-standard football stadiums. The proposed facilities would be located in the north and south of the country, with funding reportedly allocated in the 2026-2027 budget. Currently, the national team has been forced to play home matches in other countries, such as Jamaica, following safety concerns and hosting restrictions from the Dominican Republic.

Looking ahead to the final quarter of 2026, the Haitian Football League (LHF) scheduled the second edition of the D1 Paryaj Lakay championship to begin on November 8. International fixtures include the Grenadiers facing the United States in the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals in mid-November, and the Grenadières playing Mexico in the Concacaf W Championship on November 28. Additionally, the U15 men’s team is scheduled to play in Azerbaijan in late October, while the U17 men’s team competes in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar starting November 19.
