Cultural celebrations of Hakka heritage are occurring across Taiwan, focusing on music, traditional rituals, and youth engagement.

In late September 2026, the Taiwan Hakka Mountain Song Troupe announced the launch of its “Taiwan Hakka New Mountain Song” concert series. This initiative aims to revitalize traditional folk songs by incorporating various linguistic tones, including Siyen, Hailu, Dabu, Raoping, and Zaoan. Concurrently, the Taoyuan Hakka Music Festival announced finalists for its music competition, which drew over 1,000 participants across pop and traditional categories.

By October 2026, celebrations expanded to New Taipei City with the Hakka Yimin Festival. This event combines traditional religious rites, such as deity processions, with modern elements like performances by contemporary musical artists. The festival also emphasizes cultural continuity through the ‘Hakka Youth Think Tank,’ involving young people in hosting and judging roles, alongside community activities like culinary tastings and large-scale parades.
