Veszprém HC secured its second Men’s Handball Club World Championship title by defeating FC Barcelona 42-33 in the final held in Egypt. The Hungarian champions, led by coach Xavi Pascual, established a significant lead in the first half, ending it 22-16, to ensure a decisive victory.

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Emil Nielsen played a pivotal role in the win, recording 12 saves and earning the title of MVP of the tournament. For Barcelona, the loss ended an impressive 65-match winning streak, despite Timothéy N’Guessan serving as a top scorer for the Catalan side with nine goals.

Veszprém’s victory was bolstered by strong individual performances, including ten goals from Hugo Descat and eight from Nedim Remili.
