Hanoi has initiated efforts to improve urban air quality through the deployment of specialized misting vehicles. Operated by the Hanoi Urban Environment Company (URENCO), these vehicles utilize a system of nozzles to create ultra-fine water droplets that attach to suspended dust particles, causing them to settle. 

The trial involves vehicles manufactured in 2025, each equipped with a 5,300-liter water tank. To minimize disruption to residents and traffic, the vehicles operate between 11:00 PM and the early morning hours, moving at controlled speeds of 6–8 km/h. The program includes a total spraying distance of approximately 71.38 km across central routes to evaluate the technology’s effectiveness in managing urban dust.
