Brazilian actresses Mell Muzzillo and Paolla Oliveira reported experiencing online harassment, including sexual harassment, racism, and religious intolerance, following their public support for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s reelection.

Muzzillo, who reported attacks targeting her Afro-Indigenous identity and Candomblé faith, noted that some followers shifted from sexual advances to political and personal insults after she disclosed her political stance. Paolla Oliveira also documented offensive comments regarding her appearance and intelligence.

Following an intensification of aggressive audio messages on social media, Muzzillo sought formal legal intervention by reporting new instances of racism and sexual harassment to the Racial Crimes and Intolerance Crimes Police Station (DECRADI) in Rio de Janeiro.
