Following his appointment as permanent ODI and T20I captain in April 2025, Harry Brook has focused on his professional growth and leadership responsibilities. Brook previously addressed challenges regarding his off-field conduct, specifically a nightclub incident in Wellington in October 2025, noting that he has learned lessons regarding the responsibilities of leadership.

During a recent ODI tri-series in Pakistan, England failed to reach the final after losing their opening three matches, though they secured a consolation victory over Sri Lanka in Lahore. Despite the tournament outcome, coach Brendon McCullum defended Brook, praising his tactical intelligence and interactive leadership style. The team is now preparing for a white-ball tour of Australia as part of preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
