Actress Haruna Kawaguchi is promoting her upcoming film, ‘Mama ga Mou Kono Sekai ni Inakutemo: Watashi no Inochi no Nikki’, which is scheduled for release on October 2. The film, directed by Yuki Yamato, is based on the true story of Kazumi Endo, a woman who faced stage IV colorectal cancer and chose to give birth to her daughter before passing away in 2021.

Kawaguchi has shared that she studied medical records to ensure authenticity in her portrayal of Endo, noting that filming in chronological order helped reflect the physical and emotional toll of the illness. The production aims to highlight themes of love and family bonds amidst terminal illness.

In addition to the film’s promotion, Kawaguchi has received significant public attention following her August 2 announcement regarding her marriage to soccer player Ko Itakura and her first pregnancy.
