The survival thriller film ‘Heart of the Beast’, directed by David Ayer and starring Brad Pitt, follows a retired Special Forces veteran and his combat German Shepherd, Odin, after a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness. Although set in Alaska, the production was filmed on the South Island of New Zealand.

Following its release, critical reviews have emerged. While the film explores themes of loyalty and the connection between humans and animals, some critics have pointed to unrealistic survival elements and the use of artificial-looking computer-generated animals.
