The Hellenic Red Cross has conducted various public awareness and training initiatives across Greece throughout August.

To mark International Youth Day, the organization’s Youth Sector issued calls for increased volunteerism, emphasizing humanitarian values, social solidarity, and environmental stewardship through activities such as tree planting and beach cleanups. 

Following this, in observance of World Dog Day, the organization held specialized training sessions in Athens and Thessaloniki. These events focused on canine first aid, teaching citizens emergency procedures such as CPR and hemorrhage management to stabilize animals before veterinary care is available. The initiatives also aimed to promote responsible pet ownership and animal adoption.
