In September 2026, multiple manufacturers released high-performance disc brake systems tailored for mountain biking disciplines such as enduro, downhill, and e-MTB.

Magura introduced the Race Pro, an aluminum-based system utilizing forged and CNC-machined components to replace its previous use of Carbotecture plastic. The system features a radial master cylinder and ball-bearing-mounted lever pivots, retailing for approximately €699.80.

Following this, Brembo launched the GR-Pro system, developed in collaboration with the Specialized Gravity racing team and athlete Loic Bruni. This system utilizes forged two-piece calipers with 4 x 18 mm pistons and mineral oil, with a suggested retail price of €892.50.
