A series of hiking accidents occurred on walking trails in Italy during September 2026.

On September 8, a 66-year-old hiker from Pistoia was rescued near the Valfabbrica dam after falling while walking the Cammino Francescano. The woman suffered a knee injury in a rugged area and was transported to a hospital in Branca following a recovery operation by firefighters and the Umbria Alpine and Speleological Rescue service.

On September 12, a 56-year-old hiker from Faenza was injured after slipping off a trail along the Cammino dei Tre Villaggi in Blera. The accident was attributed to slippery terrain caused by heavy rainfall. Because dense vegetation and forested areas hindered ground access, the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps of Lazio utilized a helicopter to winch the man to safety. He was subsequently transported to Santa Rosa Hospital in Viterbo.
