Hindu traditions involve various forms of worship dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi to seek holistic prosperity, including health, wisdom, and material security. Observances such as Kojagori Lakshmi Puja, performed on the full moon following Durga Puja, emphasize spiritual alertness through devotion and home decoration.

Rituals vary by region and timing. In North and West India, Lakshmi Puja is a central Diwali ceremony focusing on cleanliness, Rangoli designs, and specific offerings like panchamrit. In Bengal, traditions include both Kojagari Puja on the Ashwin full moon and Dipanwita Lakshmi Puja on the Kartik new moon, the latter of which is associated with specific regional legends.
