Reports indicate that prominent rappers Drake and J. Cole have not submitted music for consideration in the 2027 Grammy Awards.

Drake reportedly bypassed the submission process for his May releases, including ‘Iceman’, ‘Habibti’, and ‘Maid of Honour’, despite plans for a world tour to promote three new albums.

Similarly, J. Cole did not enter his No. 1 Billboard 200 album, ‘The Fall-Off’, into the awards race. While no official explanation was provided for Cole’s decision, he previously remarked in a 2023 interview that the awards ‘no longer held the same weight for me as they did earlier in my career’ and stated, ‘I’m not in love with this thing anymore.’
