HIP-Petrohemija has initiated a capital renovation project valued at approximately 15 million euros. The investment aims to improve production processes and increase facility reliability, which is considered critical for the NIS refining complex due to the technical connection between HIP-Petrohemija and the Pančevo Oil Refinery.

The renovation involves 28 specific projects, including work on high-pressure steam production boilers in the Ethylene plant and the reconstruction of steel structures in the synthetic rubber finalization building in Elemir. This complex project is reported to involve more than 11,000 individual activities.

To facilitate these works, production was scheduled to be suspended, with operations in Pančevo halting on September 21 and the synthetic rubber factory in Elemir scheduled for shutdown on September 30. A restart is planned for November 18. Director Goran Stojiljković stated that the maintenance work will be carried out by 400 factory employees and 620 contractors, primarily from domestic companies.

The company has secured petrochemical product stocks to maintain market supply during the shutdown. Management also noted that residents of Pančevo should not experience any disruptions or visible flare activity during the process.
