In mid-September, the municipal government opened a bidding process for R$ 1.3 million to renovate the Pantanal History Museum (MUHPAN) in Porto Geral. The project, developed by the Foundation for Urban Development and Historical Heritage (FUPHAN), includes structural repairs to the roof and drainage systems, plumbing upgrades, and improvements to accessibility and internal flooring. Later in the month, a larger restoration project was announced for the historic Hotel Internacional, valued at approximately R$ 3.83 million. Marsou Engenharia Ltda. was selected to manage the recovery of the early 20th-century landmark, which has been closed for over twenty years. This project, conducted in partnership with the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) under the Novo PAC program, seeks to preserve architectural elements and mural paintings to eventually house public offices and services. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-24: Corumbá to restore historic Hotel Internacional for R$ 3.8 million The historic Hotel Internacional in Corumbá, Brazil, will undergo a R$ 3.8 million restoration to preserve its architecture and repurpose the building for municipal public services. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/corumb-to-restore-historic-hotel-internacional-for-r-38-million ### 2026-09-10: Corumbá opens R$ 1.3 million tender for Pantanal History Museum renovation Corumbá has launched a R$ 1.3 million bidding process to renovate the historic Pantanal History Museum, including structural repairs, accessibility upgrades, and facade restoration. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/corumb-opens-r-13-million-tender-for-pantanal-history-museum-renovation --- Cite as: Historical heritage restoration in Corumbá.
