The Chilean Investigative Police (PDI) are investigating the homicide of a Venezuelan man, approximately 50 years old, in the Estación Central commune of Santiago. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the posterior thoracic region and collapsed on a public street near the intersection of Los Pingüinos and Atahualpa.

After receiving first aid from witnesses, the man was transported to the Hospital de la Mutual de Seguridad, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators are currently determining if the attack took place several blocks away from where the victim fell. Authorities are also examining whether the crime was a robbery, noting that the victim’s mobile phone and identification documents were missing.
