In Várzea Grande, an autopsy has confirmed the death of 25-year-old professor Breno Antonio Humberto de Moraes. The investigation revealed the victim died from hemorrhagic shock resulting from 13 stab wounds, including deep vascular lesions in the neck and abdomen. 

Delegate Bruno Abreu of the Specialized Homicide and Person Protection Police (DHPP) noted that three cutting wounds to the external genitalia were inflicted while the victim was still alive. Due to the nature of the injuries, investigators are considering whether to classify the crime as involving ‘cruel means’ (meio cruel).
