Police in Brazil have conducted several arrests related to distinct homicide investigations. In Anápolis, Goiás, two suspects were apprehended following the fatal shooting of a couple, Hiago Almeida dos Santos and Ana Carolina Maia Nogueira, outside their business. Authorities seized a motorcycle and firearms, noting that the motive may be linked to drug trafficking disputes.

In separate incidents, authorities in Manaus arrested Gilberto Jander Runa Farias, known as ‘Neguinho,’ for the April 2026 death of Jonas Silva dos Santos following a dispute. Additionally, in Três Lagoas, a 41-year-old man was arrested after being identified via security footage in connection with the fatal shooting of Thaís de Souza Moraes outside a nightclub.

Recent reports indicate a surge in violence linked to organized crime and criminal factions. In São José dos Quatro Marcos, three women were arrested for torturing a 32-year-old woman during a video call ‘judgment’ ordered by a faction. In Itaperuna, a man was arrested for a double homicide where a couple was killed with stones following a suspected ‘crime tribunal’ betrayal.

In São Paulo, authorities are investigating the deaths of 17 individuals showing signs of torture and execution, with several cases suspected to be related to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). In Água Clara, three suspects face charges for the execution of a 17-year-old, an act potentially linked to rivalry between the PCC and Comando Vermelho (CV). Other regional incidents include a fatal shooting in Maceió and a homicide during a birthday celebration in Ji-Paraná.
