Sources: 11. Developments: 2. In late September 2026, several violent incidents involving Venezuelan nationals were reported in Peru. In the district of Amarilis, Huánuco, the body of 20-year-old José Manuel Mayorquin Arraez was discovered in a shack. He had been missing since September 17 and was found with his hands and feet bound and a gunshot wound to the temple. A note found at the scene suggested the killing was an ‘Ajuste de cuenta’ (settling of scores) by a group known as ‘Los Intocables de Huánuco,’ though investigators expressed suspicion that the note might be a tactic to divert the inquiry. A second Venezuelan national was also reported dead following a violent encounter during this period. By late September and early October, authorities identified another victim, 21-year-old Marialis Barrios Castillo, whose body was found on Cabeza de León beach in the Huacho district. Preliminary police reports indicated the body showed signs of violence and gunshot wounds. Investigators are currently examining whether the homicide occurred at the beach or if the body was abandoned there to obstruct the investigation. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-02: Venezuelan woman identified after being found dead in Peru Peruvian authorities identified 21-year-old Venezuelan Marialis Barrios Castillo, whose body was found with gunshot wounds at Cabeza de León beach in Huacho. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/venezuelan-woman-identified-after-being-found-dead-in-peru ### 2026-09-23: Two Venezuelan nationals found dead in Peru Two Venezuelan nationals were found dead in Peru following violent incidents, including a suspected settling of scores involving a criminal group in Huánuco. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/two-venezuelan-nationals-found-dead-in-peru --- Cite as: Homicides of Venezuelan nationals in Peru.
