Basilio Fuschich, president of the Association of Coffee Exporters (ADECAFEH), stated that the current season is expected to close with approximately 7.2 million bags. While the current season has already generated over $2.4 billion in foreign exchange, future production levels depend heavily on weather patterns. Although mountainous shade-grown areas are in good condition, a lack of rainfall is impacting lower-altitude plantations, which experts warn could affect bean quality and weight.
