Sources: 17. Developments: 2. The Honduras national football team is preparing for upcoming Concacaf Nations League fixtures. In late September, the National Police announced security protocols for the match against Suriname, including the deployment of 550 officers and strict prohibitions on items such as pyrotechnics and sharp objects. As the team prepares for a match against Martinique, roster updates have emerged. An independent arbitration panel unanimously overturned a red card issued to Dereck Moncada, making him eligible for selection. However, defender Denil Maldonado remains a doubt for the fixture due to an inflamed ankle and leg discomfort sustained during a previous game in Kingston. Coach José Francisco Molina has indicated he may implement rotations in the defense and midfield to provide fresh legs. Following a 1-0 victory over Jamaica, Honduras travels to Fort-de-France to face Martinique in a Group B match at the Pierre Aliker Stadium. The team seeks a second win to strengthen its chances of advancing to the quarterfinals and securing a spot in the 2027 Gold Cup. Martinique, managed by Fabien Mercadal, enters the match at the bottom of Group B with zero points following losses to El Salvador and Suriname. The match will be officiated by Kwinsi Williams of Trinidad and Tobago. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-30: Honduras faces Martinique in CONCACAF Nations League Honduras faces Martinique in the CONCACAF Nations League, seeking a vital win to stay in contention for the quarterfinals.
