The racehorse Attrition has demonstrated strong recent form in Australian racing. On October 10, the horse secured a second $2 million Hill Stakes victory at Rosehill, defeating rival Lindermann by a half-neck in the 1900m Group 2 feature.

Following this win, trainer Mitchell Freedman began preparing Attrition for a second attempt at the Cox Plate. Due to renovations at Moonee Valley, the 2040m weight-for-age championship is scheduled to be held at Flemington. Freedman noted that the seven-year-old gelding is performing at a “superior level” compared to his fourth-place finish in the Cox Plate last year.
