HoYoverse has announced several major updates for its titles. In September, the developer revealed a collaboration between Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, scheduled for the Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.8 release in late December. This crossover will introduce Zenless Zone Zero characters Ellen Joe and Astra Yao to the Honkai: Star Rail roster.

Following this, HoYoverse announced the Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 update, titled ‘Journey to the Sky’, which is set to launch on October 21, 2026. The update expands the narrative through a storyline set on the sky island of Roscaelifer, which is currently under lockdown.

Two new S-Rank Agents are scheduled to debut in separate phases: Phoenix Reffaella, a Fire Anomaly Agent from the Krampus Compliance Authority, in the first phase, and Severian Lowell, a Wind Attack Agent and senior commissioner of New Eridu Public Security, in the second phase. Both will be released alongside signature W-Engines.

A major gameplay addition is a new mech combat system that allows players to pilot mechs for melee and ranged attacks to infiltrate enemy bases. The update will also feature seasonal mystery-themed events, new outfits, character reruns for Velina Airgid and Norma Hollowell, and quality-of-life improvements such as enhanced team recommendation features and login rewards including Encrypted Master Tapes and Boopons.
