Hércules CF has experienced a significant defensive and competitive turnaround during the 2026/2027 Primera Federación season.

In late September, the team recorded its first clean sheet of the season in a match against Juventud Torremolinos, led by a defensive line including Blazic, Javi Jiménez, Yago Cantero, Javi Rentero, Samu Vázquez, and Miki Bosch.

By mid-October, the club moved into fourth place in Group 2 following a 1-0 victory over UE Sant Andreu. The decisive goal was scored by Isaac Obeng, who delivered a curling left-footed strike after cutting in from the right flank. Under manager Beto Company, the Alicante-based side has earned 13 of its last 15 available points and maintained a streak of four consecutive matches without conceding. The victory at the Rico Pérez stadium was marked by controversy when a penalty initially awarded to Hércules for a foul on Samu Vázquez was overturned following a VAR review, prompting protests from players and supporters.

However, the team’s momentum was interrupted on October 17, when Algeciras CF defeated Hércules CF 2-0. Raúl Rubio opened the scoring with a header, and Javi Avilés secured the win for the home side in the closing minutes.
