The German crime series originally titled ‘Hubert und Staller’ underwent a rebranding to ‘Hubert ohne Staller’ in 2019. This change followed the 2018 departure of actor Helmfried von Lüttichau, who had appeared in 116 episodes but left because the work had become “routine”.

In 2026, the series marks its 15th anniversary. Following a hiatus, the show is scheduled to return to ARD with the conclusion of its 13th season and the commencement of its 14th season. The production continues to feature core ensemble members including Christian Tramitz, Michael Brandner, and Katharina Müller-Elmau.
