In Guadalajara, various organizations are conducting awareness activities focused on human rights and vulnerable populations.

The Diocese of Sigüenza-Guadalajara is hosting the 112th World Migrant and Refugee Day from September 21 to 27. Centered on the theme “Even just one of these little ones,” the program highlights the experiences of migrant children and adolescents through cultural, religious, and social events.

The schedule includes an exhibition of intercultural associations at the Eduardo Guitián Integrated Municipal Center, an intercultural café at Casa Nazaret, and storytelling for children at the Suárez de Puga Library. Other planned activities include a peaceful “Circle of Silence” in Plaza de Santo Domingo to advocate for migrant rights, an intercultural parade on September 25, and an intercultural festival at Concordia Park on September 26. The week concludes on September 27 with an intercultural mass at the El Salvador parish.

Concurrently, the Guadalajara City Council is organizing events to observe the International Day Against Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking on September 23. These initiatives include a theatrical performance titled ‘Aquí nunca pasa nada’ (Nothing Ever Happens Here) as part of the ‘Teatro por la Igualdad’ program to address the exploitation of women and girls.

Symbolic actions include lighting the Arriaca municipal building in blue and launching a social media campaign. Further efforts include the ‘Mesa de la Trata’ (Trafficking Table), scheduled to meet on September 24 to continue coordinated prevention and social commitment efforts.
