Authorities in Thailand have conducted operations to rescue foreign nationals being trafficked for use in fraudulent activities near the Myanmar border.

In Kanchanaburi province, police and the Japanese Embassy rescued two Japanese men who were allegedly coerced into making scam phone calls to elderly citizens in Japan. The victims reported being held at a fraud base for approximately 20 days and facing threats against their relatives.

In Tak province, highway police intercepted a vehicle and rescued three Chinese nationals who were found bound and handcuffed. The victims were reportedly lured to Thailand with promises of employment and were being transported toward criminal scam compounds across the Moei River in Myanmar. Four Thai suspects were arrested in connection with the transport of the victims.
